Cameron Hill has thoroughly savoured his first laps of Mount Panorama in the BP Ultimate/SRM BMW M4 GT4, he and co-drivers Dean Grant and Xavier West ending the day third-fastest in Class C on combined times from today’s four practice sessions at the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
Hill participated in the day’s second and third sessions, setting a best lap time of 2:18.4 in the third session.
“The car is feeling really nice, the main objective today was to ensure all three of us were comfortable,” Hill said.
“In practice, the goal is to make sure everyone gets a decent amount of seat time, so we didn’t make too many radical changes to the car setup and we weren’t chasing super-fast lap times.
“We made a couple of adjustments after I did a short stint, and the goal for qualifying for tomorrow is to give everyone a run on green tyres with a low fuel load.
“A big thankyou to Steven Richards, BP and BMW – it’s fantastic to have their support to enable me to race in such a prestigious event.”
The fifth practice session for the Bathurst 12 Hour will be held at 8:55 tomorrow morning, with qualifying at 11:05.
