Racing Driver Launches Revolutionary Fan Interaction Platform

Canberra racing driver Cameron Hill has broken new ground for athlete-to-fan engagement, today launching his fully interactive Cameron Hill Racing mobile app ahead of this week’s Toyota 86 Racing Series opening round at Phillip Island.

The 20-year-old becomes the first Australian racing driver of note to have a fully-functioning mobile app, which will allow fans to follow Hill’s progress at each round of the 86 Series.

Through the app, Hill’s fans can access event schedules and watch live timing of every 86 Series session. They can also view driver and team member profiles, send messages to the team, and even access exclusive offers from Hill’s sponsors.

Team partners National Capital Toyota and Anytime Fitness have already announced offers available exclusively through the Cameron Hill Racing app: National Capital Toyota customers can receive $500 worth of accessories with any new vehicle purchase, while Anytime Fitness centres at Fyshwick, Chisholm, Dickson and Charnwood are offering a 50% discount off the joining fee and 10% off the weekly membership.

The app also allows Cameron Hill fans to become micro-sponsors of the team. Silver packages are available for just $100 and include signage on the car, along with entry into the draw to win tickets to the final 86 round at Newcastle, while the $500 Gold package includes a hot lap with Cameron in the Toyota 86 race car.

Hill is proud to be setting the standard for fan engagement in the Australian motorsport scene.

“We’ve done our research and there are no professional Australian drivers with their own app, even at Supercars level,” Hill said.

“These days, an app is a very effective way of engaging and interacting with fans, as the vast majority of people own a smartphone and expect the ability to access information in real time.

“It’s also another channel through which our sponsors can promote their products, and I’m excited to be able to offer these benefits to both our team partners and fans.”

The Cameron Hill Racing app is available on both Apple and Android platforms.

After his top-10 finish at the weekend’s Bathurst 6 Hour, Hill is all set this weekend’s opening round of the Toyota 86 Series, supporting the WD-40 Phillip Island 500 Supercars event.

“It will be the first time I’ve raced the 86 at Phillip Island, but I have driven there in Formula Ford,” Hill said.

“It will be a circuit that suits the 86 well – the 86 is known for its handling agility, and will be able to carry plenty of corner speed through the fast, flowing sections.

“The key will be precision, and making sure the corner exits are perfect.”

In addition to watching live timing on the Cameron Hill Racing app, fans can also watch all sessions live on Fox Sports 506.
