Darwin proved another step forward in the progression of Cameron Hill's Supercars career after securing another Top 10 Shootout berth and a front-running result at Hidden Valley Raceway this weekend.

Continuing to build on an impressive sophomore season in the Repco Supercars Championship, Hill did just this in Darwin as he welcomed Dabble.com as the new major partner for this round.

The weekend evolved for Hill after qualifying 19th for Race 11, leading to strong passes to climb to 16th. A strategic overtake on veteran James Courtney, on a track notoriously hard to pass at, was a particular highlight.

In a rapid Sunday schedule, Hill qualified ninth, making his third Top 10 Shootout appearance for the season. After a solid shootout performance, Hill secured sixth on the grid.

Making a great start, Hill was in the battle for fourth during the opening stint before a hold up in pit lane to merge lost him time, leading to ninth at the flag – his second top 10 result for the season.

Beginning to emerge as a regular top 10 contender, Hill will target further progression at the next round of the Repco Supercars Championship at Townsville on July 5-7.

“It was really cool to have Dabble on the car this weekend and they really got behind us and enjoyed the event,” Hill said.

"We had an awesome time feeding crocs up here in Darwin and enjoying a dinner before the red eye flight. I always love the experience of coming to Darwin.

“On the results side of things, we had a tough Saturday as I didn’t get the most out of my car in qualifying. It makes the racing really hard when you're buried in the pack and I think we had a good race car.

“We moved forward and got a penalty on the way through, but we went into Sunday knowing that it was there for the taking. I got in the top 10 in qualifying and a good Shootout lap picked us up a few more. We were running really well in the race as well and we had a really good strategy.

“It was just really unfortunate that when I was doing my pit stop, Andre (Heimgartner) was serving a pit lane penalty and we had to give way. It cost a few seconds and meant we lost some track position. It's hard to get back when you lose it. I think we were good for a top five here.

“Nick was fifth in that one, making it a double top 10 for the team. I'm really stoked for us as a team. and I'm really keen to get on to Townsville.”
