Cameron Hill has qualified as the best of the Subaru entries for tomorrow’s Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, in the Horsley Park Gun Shop WRX he will share with James Abela.
Hill qualified 15th, and felt the result was representative of the car’s pace.
“We had a slight electrical problem in the first run, but the second run went well,” Hill said.
“We bolted on a new set of tyres and I had one of the clearest laps I’d had all weekend, so I don’t think there was much more performance left in it.
“The most encouraging thing is the car feels like it will be able to do those laps comfortably all day tomorrow, so we should be able to hang with the lead pack.
“Provided we get our strategy right and stay on the lead lap, there’s no reason we can’t contend for a good result tomorrow.”
The warm-up will be held at 8:10 tomorrow, with the race starting at 11:30.
