Cameron Hill gets first laps in Gen3 Camaro at Queensland Raceway

Cameron Hill has become the first driver to steer a Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro at Queensland Raceway today.

Hill drove the first of Matt Stone Racing’s Camaros (MSR 003) at the Ipswich circuit in the team’s shakedown test, with the car featuring a testing-only Trust Assist livery.

Hill was the first of the team’s drivers to have a steer today, with his 2023 team-mate Jack Le Brocq also cutting laps behind the wheel

The team’s 2023 championship liveries are set to be revealed at a private launch event on Monday, February 13.

Hill was over the moon to be the first driver to complete laps in the new Camaros.

“We’ve had our first shakedown of Matt Stone Racing’s first Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro and what a special morning for me to be the first driver to drive a Camaro race car this year,” he said.

“The day has gone super smoothly, we did a couple of installation laps and we came in for the boys to have a look at the car. It has all been perfect, so a great start to our test program.”

The team returns to Queensland Raceway on Thursday for more testing.
