Cameron Hill has enjoyed a solid start to his 2024 Repco Supercars Championship campaign following the completion of a Rookie Test Day at Queensland Raceway on January 31.
Hill shared his Matt Stone Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with new teammate Nick Percat taking the wheel for the first time.
The day also marked the debut of Hill’s new #4 he will use for this year’s championship as it honours the period of domination Stone Brothers Racing enjoyed 20 years ago where it took a hat-trick of Supercars crowns. The squad was spearheaded by team owner Matt Stone’s father Jim and uncle Ross.
While Percat completed 10 laps per Supercars’ Rookie Test Day regulations, Hill completed the rest of the day as part of three extra he can utilise throughout this season, his second in the top-tier class of Australia.
The Rookie Test sets Hill up for the official pre-season run at Queensland Raceway on February 5 for all teams from the Sunshine State.
“Good to get our first test day in for 2024,” Hill remarked.
“It was a really good opportunity to see how the car will feel this year with the aero changes that have been made over the off season.
“We ticked a few boxes on our programme so we can start Monday’s test day on the front foot. The car looks tough in all black, but I can’t wait for everyone to see the new livery when the covers come off at our livery launch day.”
Following the Official Supercars Test Day, Matt Stone Racing will release the liveries for Hill and Percat in a presentation on February 9.
